Queen Victoria was doing it at her beach in Osborne thanks to her husband Albert’s insistence , and around the same time Victorians flocked to Ventnor beach for a variety of health benefits. They arrived by train for a dip in the sea and to relish in the micro climate that was on offer.
Today the trend seems to be growing for sea water swimming and for good reason too.

*To stay safe we recommend you always swim in a supervised area or in a group and only stay in the water for up to half an hour. Always have warm clothing for afterwards and use a wetsuit if your not used to the cold temperatures. Stay in the shallows and you could really reap the benefits this inexpensive activity has to offer.
